Our lesson today was about bats and their special features. Next week, we will talk about animals and how animals adapt and survive. This lesson about bats connects directly to our curriculum and next week's learning! Are you as big as a fruit bat? Getting a closer look at bats and their skeleton!
So, our scheduled bus driver called in sick today, and we had to wait 40 minutes for a replacement...but we made it! Off to the MUSE!
Help your child practice identifying coins and their value. Play this fun song for practice! For the next two weeks, we will be talking about coin attributes and values. We will use coins to purchase items, sort and count mixed coins, and show different ways to make different amounts of cents!
Check out the concentration on these faces! I LOVE it! We had an exciting time using our robo-arm designs to try and collect a rock from the surface of the moon. Was your child's team successful?
I hope your child had fun connecting our reading and research about space, planets, and the moon to a STEM challenge!
What we will do next week?... Let's go to the Moon! This week, we are learning about space, the moon, planets, and the sun. We have researched the moon, space tools, space vehicles, robotics, and planets! We have used books and videos to stretch our vocabulary. Ask us about roll, pitch, and yaw. (ways a robotic arm can move!) Ask us what a lunar rover is! Can your child tell you details from our research? Do you know facts about a planet? What do they remember from our story of the week? Can they tell you what is important about space suits? We learned that astronauts bring samples of dust and rock back from the moon to show people on Earth. Our STEM challenge this week is to design a robo-arm to collect a moon rock while remaining safe in our shuttle. Will your student be able to collaborate respectfully with a team to design a space tool for ALL team members to collect a rock? We will test our designs on Friday!
Please tell the ticket agent you are in Mrs. Dulin's class for FREE admission. Thank you to Santina's dad!
I hope you can join us tonight for some for more #OBB fun. Join us for square dancing in the gym, chili in the cafe, and photo fun throughout the building. Don't forget to stop by our classroom to see your child's work displayed, enjoy some letters from their friends, and read some of our farm friendship stories!
What a great time we have had getting to know the characters from Charlotte's Web! We have learned about friendship, spiders, farm life, life cycles, and E.B. White. What has your favorite part of this OBB experience been?
Are you excited to see what book we will explore together next year? I hope our community will continue to support this event. Check out our DonorsChoose post if you would like to sponsor another book for just our class! |
