We had a fun time enjoying hot chocolate with extra toppings while watching The Polar Express. We have earned a fun day celebrating how much we have grown this year. I can't wait to see what we do in 2016!
Buddy is trying to encourage good choices. He is looking for Above the Line behavior! He got into our prize bin and picked a few favorites.
Today, Mr. Kirkland decided to challenge our class with an activity he did with 3rd grade! I was so curious how we would do accepting the challenge, not getting discouraged, and making improvements until we solved the problem. Guess what?... We DID IT! I am so proud of our crew for being able to accomplish the impossible! I am also SO thankful for Mr. Kirkland for believing in us enough to give us the opportunity. So what was this incredible task they accomplished today?... They held books 6 inches off the ground with only 10 sheets of paper! WOW!! How did they do it? Ask your child about this STEM experience. See if you can beat our high score. One team held 9 books using only paper!
This guy caused quite a bit of trouble in our room last year with spilled hot chocolate, bandaids, and teasing our pets but he is BACK. Meet Buddy the Elf! Has your child told you about Buddy? What have they shared with you? Each day, we are recording the adventures of Buddy and where we find him in a journal. On our first day back from Thanksgiving break, we found him on the American flag. Most of us did not notice him until we said the Pledge of Allegiance! Today, he was riding on Bullseye. Where will we find him tomorrow? Has he seen good things from your child this week? |
