In our story this week, Fred created stripes and spots on the jungle animals. We explored paints and colors to see if we could create three different shades of green. How did your child make the color lighter? How did they create a darker shade? We also tried making our own play doh! Your child had to work with a team to create a play doh recipe using only flour, salt, and water. Some groups had a runny or sticky substance. Others made a dough that actually held the shape of a ball and didn't stick to their hands! We might have made a mess, but learning and growing is messy sometimes!
I'm so glad I spend my days with these TURKEYS!! I am thankful for these smiles! I love these sweet friendships! I am thankful for your child!
I am so proud of our class and the many students who demonstrate our Keys of Excellence. We are excited for Brent who was chosen as our Flexibility key winner. He shows flexibility with reading groups, during math stations, and throughout our day as schedules change. He also demonstrates flexibility outside of school as his family transitions into a new home. Thank you, Brent, for being being a positive example!
If your child enjoyed making slime in class this week or missed this opportunity, you can duplicate our experience! Try new colors, recipes, or ingredients! We used food coloring and glitter in our ocean slime and play sand in our sand slime.
We mixed equal parts of clear glue and water first. We added coloring and "extras" and then added an equal part of liquid starch. The mixing of the first two ingredients is important before adding the third. The more the products are worked together, the better the outcome! What variations can you create? Have fun! Maybe you can make some holiday slime in the coming weeks! So much fun watching these guys wrap up the league championship! Way to go Jack and Cade. Go team Red!
These kids are my heroes! They Help, Encourage, and Respect Others in our classroom. They work hard to improve their learning and behavior choices. They want to be their BEST, and it is such a pleasure to get to be a part of it! What an amazing crew!
A big thanks to our volunteers who helped setup and manage our fall party! We enjoyed delicious cookies from Ms. Alison, a batty craft, eyeball races, and a nasty good time with a witch! Thank you Brent and Mason for the extra goodies too! I hope your family had a safe and exciting Halloween together. I am looking forward to the sugar crash of Thursday and Friday! Haha |
