This week, we read What Can You Do? This led to our Talent Show and our STEM Challenge for the week. We competed against two peers in 5 small challenges. Each day, we did a new challenge and gathered data to record in a chart. We then analyzed the data to discover who did each task the best. We used our grammar skills of -er and -est to compare our results. Who was the fastest cup stacker? Who made the longest play-doh snake? Who built the tallest paper tower? Who's hoop glider flew the farthest? Who made the funniest picture using photo booth?

Benjamin and Donovan both put together great PowerPoint Presentations to share with our class about their baseball talents. They added real pictures and information about their skills. Alex demonstrated her piano talent by playing Rocky Top for the class! Saisei wrote and delivered a speech about his piano talent and shared several awards he has received in competitions. Ryleigh and Judah demonstrated their talents with some hula hoop action and LEGOS. Addi also shared a few dance moves with us. What a great experience and fun day getting to hear about their abilities. Thank you for helping your child to prepare for our Class Talent Show.
Congratulations Jess on running 24 laps during our Strut time! Alex was our girl winner with 19 laps! We also had one in a new cast run 20 laps without complaint and limited physical activity for 2 weeks prior. What a fun day! Your child's folder has more information about their Struting. You can begin sending in donation collections at any time. Thank you to those who asked for pledges and have already sent in donations. Our Strut funds do help make Sam Houston a better place. Our PTO always uses this money to directly impact our students and campus. Hopefully, we will reach our goal of $25,000 and have a Prize Day next week with inflatables and more!
Our STEM integration this week involved telling time to the hour and half hour, determining elapsed time, sequencing, and life cycles! After solving problems about garden tasks and their duration. We used Koma Koma to put the tasks in order, show the finish times on analog clocks, and see the story come to life! Check your child's Seesaw account to see they final project.
